New storage technology at Kärcher

DAMBACH stacker cranes in operation at Kärcher.

The company Kärcher SE & Co. KG stores production parts for the international export of Kärcher products at its Obersontheim site in Germany. In order to continue to meet the high demand, the company has expanded the existing warehouse.

Together with the planner IO, a total of six storage and retrieval machines (SRM) of the type MONO with the DAMBACH control system were installed in the extended high-bay warehouse. The installation of the stacker cranes was carried out via the roof hatches of the hall with a total area of 4,500 m². The commissioning of the hall will take place in the coming weeks.

More than 31,000 storage locations are available in the 31 m high high-bay warehouse. The loads weighing up to one ton are lifted onto the SRM by the DAMBACH double-deep telescopic forks. The main objectives of the new construction project were to ensure an even larger storage area in addition to the connection to the existing high-bay warehouse. The DAMBACH control system enabled a simple connection to high-level ERP systems.
