On the occasion of the successful cooperation with Bosch Rexroth, Managing Director Dr.-Ing. Benjamin Thumm presented the company DAMBACH Lagersysteme at the Factory Automation Days 22 in Ulm on July 8. The focus of the presentation was on the relevance of warehouse technology with modern control approaches in the context of increasing factory automation.
Based on market data and application examples, the importance of the intralogistics industry and the change in the supply chain of modern companies were addressed. In addition to the goals and challenges of warehouse automation, Dr. Thumm highlighted various trends and technologies. An important factor for progression is the perfect interaction between hardware and software. An advanced control system forms the fundament. Integrated control concepts such as those from Bosch Rexroth not only enable new approaches to solutions, but also the optimization of existing system solutions. The continuous development of DAMBACH products has led to significant successes in the areas of compactness, performance, precision and robustness. For example, the height of the COMPACT SHUTTLE load handling device was reduced by 20 mm and its performance was increased even further. The pallet shuttle from DAMBACH is thus one of the leading devices of modern automated channel storage systems. In the case of the Automatic mini load SRM MINI, it was even possible to reduce the volume of the control cabinet by approx. 64 %. Dr. Thumm on the current application: "The new Bosch Rexroth logistics center in Lohr am Main is a flagship project for the successful interaction of automated storage and conveyor systems with Smart Factory Automation. With an area of 8,900 square meters, the logistics center will in future offer space for around 10,000 storage locations for pallets as well as around 65,000 containers."
