Job Description:

The Controls Engineer joins a team of respected industry problem solvers that the world’s leading companies rely on to keep their operations running and elevate them to new levels of efficiencies. In this role, the Controls Engineer works with internal and customer teams on the implementation of new systems or modifying/servicing existing equipment at customer locations. This work is critical in elevating customers to the latest industry standards and cutting-edge technologies and maintaining this level of excellence. The ideal candidate for this position must possess strong analytical skills, use creative approaches to solve problems, and be able to work well within a team as well as in an individual capacity. In this role, the candidate would frequently be working in a client-facing capacity and needs to be comfortable communicating project updates, navigating challenges, and working to ensure customer expectations are met. Lastly, candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and processes, be self motivated and, at times, be able to work with little supervision to accomplish tasks.

 

Responsibilities:

     

  • Understand and perform all controls engineering tasks, both hardware & software related
  • Supervise the electrical installation of new/existing equipment
  • Commissioning and troubleshooting of PLC based automated systems
  • Technical support for on-site team
  • Troubleshooting of electrical faults at customer sites
  • Provide/deliver technical customer training
  • Ability and willingness to travel for work, approximately 70-75% of time
  •  

Required Skills / Qualifications:

     

  • BS Electrical Engineering OR experience in relevant electrical position (other degrees will also be considered with pertinent experience)
  • Strong electrical and knowledge
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate high levels of ingenuity, good judgment, and knowledge of the equipment during service, commissioning, or troubleshooting phases
  • Hands-on experience with electrical/mechanical systems
  • Exceptional communication skills when interacting with clients and internal team members
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  •  

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

     

  • Siemens and/or Allen Bradly PLC systems
  • Siemens S120/G120 drives, SEW drives
  • AutoCAD
  •
