MONOFLEX System

Rail Guided Vehicle:
High Throughput Rates and Maximum Scalability

This rail guided vehicle system MONOFLEX is powered by inductive energy. The smart track guided vehicles run on floor mounted twin rails. The MONOFLEX system sets new standards in terms of throughput, flexibility, and scalability. True to the motto “dynamic warehousing”, this rail guided vehicle system from DAMBACH Lagersysteme provides a high-performance conveying system for the apron in warehouse systems, or functions as an alternative to conveyor systems with continuous conveyors. For example, the MONOFLEX can form the ideal complement to the MULTIFLEX pallet shuttle system.

This rail guided vehicle system from DAMBACH consists of high-performance transport carts and a twin rail track. The track is made from aluminum, which is not only robust, but easy to install. Simple switches ensure good availability, even in the case of complex plant layouts. With a 1:1 distribution of the material flow, the fast switching times of the switches enable throughput rates of up to 450 carts per hour. Fast cart changeovers and the inclusion of additional carts are therefore no problem, e.g. to reach peak performance in material flows.

The PU-coated running wheels guided inside the rail profile mean that not only are the transport carts quiet, but also that each bogie is ideally protected against dust and dirt. All transport carts are designed for a rated load of max. 1500 kg. The two driven wheels achieve fast acceleration and a fast travelling speed, but at the same time, the separate drivetrains constitute a redundant system that ensures that your warehouse keeps working. The compact design of the carts results in space saving layouts, which is particularly important at transfer stations, where several carts can operate side by side. The low rail profiles and the compact dimensions of the rail guided vehicle system result in a transfer height of just 700 mm. The MONOFLEX from DAMBACH Lagersysteme has a low weight per unit area and therefore can be installed in existing warehouses to achieve high throughput rates in those situations as well.

  • High throughput rates of up to 450 carts per hour

  • Scalability: later upgrades to increase productivity and flexibility

  • High availability

  • Compact design to ensure optimum use of space

  • Less installation work

RAIL CART:

for Highly Dynamic Goods Transport

The RAIL CART can be adapted flexibly to suit the most diverse applications. For example, the transport carts can be equipped with different load handling attachments two- or three- strand chain conveyors or roller conveyors. Even challenging unit loads such as mesh box pallets can be safely transferred by coupling electrical end stops and chain conveyors. The rail guided vehicle system is therefore ideal for transporting many different unit loads.

By using an inductive power supply together with a lightweight design, the system also achieves a low energy consumption with little wear, which helps to reduce operating costs. All transport carts are linked in the same network and exchange data in real time. The decentralized control concept enables all transport carts to adjust their travelling speed and actuate switches independently. All movements are monitored by the integral control system and compared with each other. The powerful head control manages security controlled areas, routes as well as order assignments to carts. The DAMBACH control therefore guarantees maximum operating safety, e.g. actuation of the emergency stop function if the worst comes to the worst! To gain a reliable safety-oriented data transmission based on Ethernet is used between carts and head control. Close cart spacings and excellent positioning accuracy are possible aspects that represent crucial advantages at transfer stations.

  • Rated load: max. 1500 kg

  • Load handling attachments: pallets, mesh box pallets, special unit loads

  • Travelling speed: max. 150 m/min

  • Acceleration: max. 0.7 m/s²

  • Transfer speed: 0.5 m/s

  • Power supply: inductive

  • Low energy consumption

  • Onboard control

  • Predelivery commissioning

  • Fast cart changeovers

The beverage and food industry

as application area for Rail Guided Vehicles

The DAMBACH MONOFLEX rail-guided vehicle system is suited to a variety of industries. The beverage and food industry in particular, however, can make optimal use of the advantages of the rail-guided vehicle. Process efficiency plays a decisive role in distribution logistics for beverage distributors and filling systems for beverage manufacturers. The DAMBACH rail-guided vehicle system also impresses by means of its high system availability for demanding material flow concepts.

All components of the conveyor system are constructed for high loads of up to 1,500 kg. A number of different load carriers can thereby be safely transported, whether half or quarter pallets, wood or plastic. A slide unit on the transport vehicle additionally assures a gentle transfer of the load to the transfer convey. Vehicle, acceleration, and deceleration values can be interdependently adapted to load dimensions and stability.

Whether a rapid, route-matched preparation of pallets or a sequential transfer to dispatch buffers: Various commissioning strategies can be achieved with the intelligent head control of the rail-guided vehicle system. Lead times are optimized for goods delivery and handover. Decisive for bottling warehouse capacity.

The MONOFLEX system is also suited to the food industry, which has a growing variety of products and ever more challenging commissioning solutions. Finally, based on modular lifting accessories, DAMBACH rail-guided transport vehicles are already designed for handling full pallets and extending to mixed pallets of individual products and containers.

The rail-guided vehicle system can achieve flexible goods availability. More rail-guided vehicles can easily be fed into the conveyor system for peak capacities. Wear and energy consumption can be controlled through parking areas as needed. The intelligent spacing regulation makes the simultaneous in-feed and discharge of a number of vehicles possible in the narrowest space with contactless buffering.

The space requirement in the storage zone is reduced to a minimum by small curve radii. High efficiency, availability, and transport capacities of up to 600 vehicles per hour make the DAMBACH rail-guided vehicle system extremely versatile.

Optimized interfaces

for Good Availability

This RGV system from DAMBACH Lagersysteme is a highly dynamic system for transporting a huge range of different unit loads while achieving excellent throughput rates. It is here in particular that the interfaces to the adjoining warehouse and materials handling installations play a crucial role.

DAMBACH warehousing technology and materials handling systems are designed for good efficiency and the safe transport of goods. The MONOFLEX rail guided vehicle system has already proved its worth in conjunction with DAMBACH storage and retrieval machines and the DAMBACH pallet shuttle system. This is the way to achieve a hitherto unknown synergy between optimum space utilization, throughput rates, and productivity.

Material flows are guaranteed by a multitude of materials handling elements: chain conveyors, roller conveyors, chain or roller lift tables, change-of-direction units, and turntables. Throughout the system, good availability is the top priority.
