DAMBACH Smart Energy Management (DSE)

Energy efficiency and high throughput are not mutually exclusive. DAMBACH Smart Energy Management (DSE) reduces the energy consumption of automated Lagersysteme by one-third and lowers peak current draw from the grid to one-fifth. No loss of performance, no complex grid feed-back. DSE is suitable for storage and retrieval machines (SIR-machines) and vertical conveyors and can also be integrated into existing control systems.

How DSE Works

DAMBACH storage and retrieval machines recover energy during braking and lowering of the load. DSE stores this energy in Power Caps and makes it directly available for acceleration and lifting operations. There is no need for grid power feedback whatsoever. If the energy storage units cannot be fully charged through energy recovery, DSE recharges them from the grid during periods of low load. This reliably prevents power spikes.

Benefits of

DAMBACH Smart Energy Management

Icon for efficient material flows in automated warehouse systems

Energy consumption reduced by one-third

Energy recovery and smart recharging measurably reduce energy consumption.

Icon for low running costs and reduced operating expenses

Peak current reduced by a factor of five

DSE reliably balances out power peaks in the grid.

Icon for cost-effective and economical storage solutions

Smaller network infrastructure

The substation can be designed to be significantly smaller, thereby reducing capital costs.

Improving the Performance of Existing Systems

Use the existing power supply to increase the performance of the storage and retrieval machines (SIR-machines) without expanding the power grid.

A leading name in battery technology and energy-efficient warehouse automation

Power Outages Without a Malfunction

Short power outages are bridged by stored energy, ensuring that the devices shut down in a controlled manner.

A benchmark for reliable and precise automation processes

No grid feed-in required

Recovered energy is reused locally, eliminating the need for complex grid synchronization.

Power Caps

A proven system—maximum reliability

Power Caps are high-performance energy storage devices that store recovered energy and make it available immediately. Years of experience with the DAMBACH COMPACT SHUTTLE demonstrate their reliability in continuous operation. Recharge time: at least 8 seconds; 24/7 operation without battery replacement; maintenance-free and suitable for use in deep-freeze environments.

Energy Infrastructure

DSE enables reliable balancing

DSE smooths out voltage spikes, bridges short power outages, and enables devices to shut down in a controlled manner in the event of a power failure. Recovered energy is reused locally, peak current drops to one-fifth of its original level, and energy consumption is reduced by one-third.

Green Logistics

Not a trend, but a competitive factor

Reducing energy consumption is not just a matter of operating costs, but also of the environment. DSE demonstrates that the two go hand in hand. Energy consumption decreases, while handling capacity remains consistently high.
